Happy Campers

We have just finished staying 3 nights at Ross River Resort staying in our caravan on a powered site. The resort looks a bit tired when you first pull in but drill down a bit and explore the homestead, it’s many rooms and it’s rich history and you will be rewarded for sure. Lots of old photos and albums to go through. Sleepers and rails from the Old Ghan used in some of the construction, a nice bar/dining area with choices for lunch and a single dish for dinner to make things uncomplicated. Ablutions block is dated and hot water was sometimes a bit hit and miss but this did not detract from our stay. Beer was cold, staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. Powered sites were in a lovely spot with great views of the Ranges and shade under the gums. Birds and horses were daily visitors. Day trips to Arltunga, Trephina Gorge and Ndhala Gorge were fantastic but be prepared for rough roads and corrugations. Binns track has not been graded in a while. All in all a very relaxing stay and we would certainly recommend the resort to anyone wanting to spend a few days in the magnificent East Macs.
